Packing Lunches of Hope to Fight Hunger

For many children in Detroit and surrounding communities, when the school year ends, so does their guarantee of a healthy meal. Food pantries across Metro Detroit are emphasizing the need to keep their shelves stocked during the summer months. Higher Hopes! is one of them, recently expanding its food distribution months through October for kids and families in Detroit.

The expanded program will distribute roughly eight thousand 35-pound meal kits to families with kids enrolled in Early Head Start, Head Start, and Great Start Readiness programs.
