Paws in the Park has something for everyone

The 2015 Paws in the Park Royal Oak event will take place in Memorial Park (211 Williams St, Royal Oak, MI 48067 at the corner of 13 Mile Road & Woodward Avenue) on Saturday, October 3rd and Sunday, October 4th from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM.  This two day dog lover's event will feature live entertainment, pet adoptions, food and shopping to delight dogs and their owners.
Paws in the Park Royal Oak has a small entrance fee for hours of fun -- tickets are $5 with children 10 and under free with a portion of the gate proceeds donated back to four local charitable organizations: Home Furever, Detroit Bully Corps, Logan's Law and The Royal Oak Animal Shelter. Home Furever will have adoptable dogs on-site to allow interested animal lovers the opportunity to begin the adoption process. 
"We are excited to be a part of Paws in the Park Royal Oak," stated Marilyn McKiddie, Director of Home Furever.  "We will have our adoptable dogs on-site and will be accepting applications.   We are a foster based charity and are in desperate need of fosters too. Please make sure you come visit our adoption area to learn more." 
Paws in the Park Royal Oak will feature hours of entertainment for owners and their pets. On Saturday, Disc Dogs of Michigan will be hosting an Updog Challenge, a new exciting dog sports organization that is great for all skill levels for disc and agility. They will host five different games 4WayPlay, ThrowNGo, Frizgility, Spaced Out, Freestyle all one round games.  The entry fee is $10 a game. Pre registration will open on September 20, 2015, check the Paws in the Park Royal Oak website for details on registering. 
On Sunday, Disc Dogs of Michigan will bring an entourage of incredibly talented highflying canines. These well trained and athletic animals will amaze crowds as they snatch flying discs out of the air during a back flip or take a running leap! 
Paws in the Park participants can also enjoy a high energy performance from the Rock n' Roll K9's, who will present forty five minute agility shows while moving and grooving to popular rock n' roll tunes.  Attendees can see a variety of breeds of dogs, with three shows daily!  Children are even invited to join in on the fun and are incorporated into the show. 
With a food court and an ATM onsite, pet owners and their pets will find it easy to grab a bite to eat to keep up with their dog that will want to stay and play all day! With food and snack samples handouts and plenty of water bowls around the event, Fido will be ready to go until the gates close at 5:00 PM.
Consumers are encouraged to bring their dogs to the event, but must be on a six feet or shorter leash and be up to date with their vaccinations. All furry friends can be a part of the action and perhaps even compete in the Running for the Pugs, Costume Contests or Wiener Dog Races to win great prizes from our sponsors. Local and national vendors will be on site to educate pet owners on pet nutrition, obedience training, and pet care and grooming.  Plenty of pet related companies will be on hand showcasing the latest fashions trends and pet products and services in the surrounding area including Pet Supplies Plus, Camp Bow Wow, North Main Animal Hospital, Scrubbers, Sit Means Sit, Elk Antlers Dog Chews, Maggie and Minnie, Canine to Five and dozens of other companies.
