Peterboro's Hong Kong Style Pan Fried Noodles

The Peterboro opened in Detroit's midtown earlier this year offering a unique blend of contemporary American-Chinese cuisine and innovative cocktails.

Peterboro Chef Brion Wong and Head Bartender Amas Muhammad visited the Fox2 studios Sunday morning and shared several items from their menu, including their signature dish -- Vegetarian Hong Kong Style Pan Fried Noodles. Vegeterian Hong Kong Style Pan Fried  Noodles

For the Hong Kong Sauce 

  • 2 each white onion - large
  • 4 cups Shaoxing, Chinese cooking wine
  • 2 galons mushroom stock
  • 1.5 bottle vegetarian stir fry
  • 2 cups Soy Sauce
  • Corn starch slurry (to thicken)


For the Vegetable Mix

  • .25 cup Onions, julliened
  • .25 cup Carrots, peeled, julienned
  • .25 cup straw mushrooms
  • .25 cup blanched cauliflower
  • .25 cup yu choy, leaves and stems
  • .25 cup garlic scapes
  • 1.5 oz shaoxing, chinese cooking wine


For the Hong Kong noodle cake

7oz Hong Kong style, panfried noodle

Thai Old Fashioned-
-2oz. Milk washed tea rum
-.375 house made simple syrup
-stirred on the rocks 
-Dash of angostura bitters
-Garnished with a lemon peel
