The Motor City Tap Festival will mark its tenth anniversary with a special celebration from Aug. 9-12 at Wayne State University. The festival features four days of tap classes and a young choreographer's competition which will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 9 at 7 p.m.
The competition is a chance for emerging choreographers to have their work seen by leading artists in the industry. The winning piece will be performed at Motor City Soles concert Saturday evening at Orchestra Hall.
Festival founder Denise Caston visited the Fox2 News Studios Sunday morning with some of her experienced tap dancers to preview the event.
