Worldwide Knit in Public Day

If participating in summer outdoor activities isn't your thing, or you just need a break from the heat and prefer to stay inside, then maybe knitting is for you.

World Wide Knit in Public Day is June 18, and to celebrate, local knitters will gather at Leon & Lulu in Clawson to help support Mittens for Detroit. Wendy Shepherd, executive director of Mittens for Detroit, stopped by the Fox2 Studios Sunday morning with Paula Kelley, owner of PK Yarn Over Knit in Clawson, and Jamie Soliman, Woolly & Co., of Birmingham, to preview the event.

Watch the video above and learn more about knitting techniques, then visit the organization's website for more information about the event.
