Chia seeds are little tiny seeds but, boy, do they pack a powerful punch. They have more Calcium that milk, more Omega 3 than salmon and more antioxidants than blueberries. But, what do you do with them?
Dr. Joel Kahn joins us with some ideas for adding the seeds to your diet.
One recipe he specifically recommends is Chia Pudding, which is said to have a Tapioca flavor.
You throw 3 teaspoons in a jar, add a few ounces of almond milk or soy milk, whatever your preference is, and also some spices, like cinnamon or nutmeg. Let it sit overnight and the seeds absorb 10 times their weight, so in the morning it's a solid mass kind of like oatmeal or pudding.
You could even add some cocoa powder to give it a chocolate flavor.
