Race for the Cure 101: What you need to know

The day is here! Metro Detroit will be flooded with pink Saturday morning for the 24th annual Susan G. Komen Race or the Cure.

The race along Detroit's Riverfront has been run every year since 1992 and raised an astonishingly $27 million for research in Metro Detroit.

What can you expect? Tears. Smiles. And unforgettable team names!

If you haven't registered to run or walk, you still can! Race day registration starts at 7:00 a.m.

Runners hit the pavement at 9:00 and the walkers follow shortly after.

If you can't make the race, good news: You can watch it all here on MyFoxDetroit.com. Charlie Langton will be running and we're sticking a GoPro on his head so you can run along with him.

Plus, on Saturday morning he's going to tell your stories! Honor a family member of yours by using the hashtags #RunCharlieRun and #stepsforsurvivors
