We have Men's Health Month, Men's Health Week is coming up, Father's Day. What to feed the man in your life, it can be simple as long as you can get them to eat it.
Dr. Joel Kahn, America's Holistic Doctor, stopped by to fill us in.
Among the foods, are beans. We all know they are good for us, but a recent study by The Blue Zone, found that beans were the No. 1 food across the world for men living long healthy lives.
Another great food is spinach, Kahn said.
"Spinach is high in a vitamin called K-2," he said. "K-2 keeps your arteries clean. If you have clean arteries, you have fun everywhere in life."
Another food is tomatoes.
"Everybody loves their prostrate, and prostrate health is very important," he said. "They are high in lycopene, a really powerful anti-oxidant. Cooked tomatoes are even better than raw."
Blueberries are also key, according to Kahn.
"Blueberries are often called 'brain-berries,'" he said. "They are so rich in polyphenols, antioxidants, this should be with every meal at least every breakfast."
Watermelons are delicious but also especially good for men, Kahn said.
"Both the rind and - yellow watermelon more, but also the red - have a chemical called citrulline," Kahn said. "Citruline becomes nitric oxide and that makes your arteries healthy.
"You want to be amorous in the bedroom, watermelon is a sexual stimulant and improves your male health."
