Health Works: Children's Miracle Network Brightens Spirits at Beaumont

Who knew an x-ray room could be such a fun place?  At Beaumont Children's Hospital you'll be impressed at how the x-ray room has been outfitted thanks to Children's Miracle Network. It automatically gives you a good feeling.

"It's something the kids really get turned onto. It's bright, it's exciting. Kids are scared about tests when they come to the hospital, particularly x-rays, and if they have to be in here for a long period of time getting distracted by something on the wall is helpful," said Dr. Donald Gibson from Pediatric Radiology at Beaumont Children's Hospital.

In another room at Beaumont Children's Hospital you'll find that activities give kids comfort. Specialists can either go to the rooms of children or come into a room where children can enjoy games, books, art and creativity.

"Our program is completely philanthropy funded. It's funded through our Children's Miracle Network so we're really fortunate to have them," said Kathleen Grobbel from Beaumont Children's Hospital.

Tuesday is National Pancake Day, a huge fundraiser for Children's Miracle Network.  You can go into any IHOP and get a free short stack with a donation to Children's Miracle Network.  It has raised millions of dollars over the last ten years. For IHOP locations click here.
