In Vitro Fertilization used to create test tube puppies for 1st time

You are about to see for the first time, test tube puppies.

Researchers from the Smithsonian Institute and Cornell University got together and unveiled puppies born from In Vitro Fertilization. 

"What we have are seven happy and healthy puppies," said Dr. Alexander Travis, associate professor of reproductive biology at Cornell University.

All came from the same litter but have different moms and dads and were born at the same time and raised together, Travis said.

Although In Vitro Fertilization has been used in humans, it is now possible with dogs, where diseases can be prevented.

The reason behind the science to keep some breeds from going extinct, while also working on inherited disorders among certain breeds of dogs.
