No matter what happens when the Lions play the Packers Thursday night, a local elementary school is already a huge winner. They are going to be the halftime superstars, and they earned it.

The students at Pine Tree Elementary in Lake Orion are the stars in a 90 second spot that will air during halftime of the game.

Pine Tree was one of five schools nationwide selected by the NFL to be showcased at halftime because of their commitment to a fit and healthy lifestyle. They even scored a special visit from Detroit Lion Joique Bell.

It's part of the NFL's Fuel Up to Play 60 contest that encourages empowering kids with the know how to make good choices.

Educators here live by the motto  "Pine Tree Strong." They have school wide exercises every morning and even healthy food taste tests. Fitness is one goal but the other benefits are priceless -- kids are liking school and learning better.

Students, parents, educators and the community can all get involved with the NFL's Fuel Up to Play 60 here: https://www.fueluptoplay60.com/about/about-the-program
