Detroit for Flint Water Drive

- What you see here is a number of local organizations coming together and the members forming the group called Detroit for Flint. They say its about doing your part. 

They started at 8 a.m.. on Saturday near Wayne State University's campus at the corner of the Lodge and Warren.

""If you can help, help.///A case. A dollar will help these people."

The organization Detroit for Flint went to the city in crisis on Tuesday and saw certain needs immediately.
 
"During the process of us going up there, we noticed daycare centers for the children were being neglected."
 
That's why the group is also asking for other items such as diapers and baby wipes to be donated as well.
 
The cost of gas and renting transportation to make the trip is straight out of pocket for the organization.
 
Shari Collins bought 24 cases of bottled water to help the cause.

The group is also reaching out to other organizations in Detroit who may want to help but don't have the necessary transportation to get the donated items to Flint.

The group wrapped up for today and they plan to come back out tomorrow at the corner of Greenfield and Puritan if you'd like to help.
