10-year-old boy pulled from Southfield house fire dies

The 10-year-old boy who was pulled from a house fire in Southfield Tuesday morning has died, FOX 2 has learned.

Firefighters found the boy and his sister on the floor in a bedroom after a neighbor called 911. The home is in the 28 thousand block of Marshall Street, which is near 12 Mile and Greenfield roads.

Battalion Chief Barry White of Southfield Fire says the cause of the fire is not known at this time. He adds there were no working smoke detectors inside the house.

The boy is 10-year-old Nathaniel Mosby. His sister is in her early 20s. Her exact condition is unknown at this time.

Authorities say the siblings suffered from smoke inhalation and were not burned.

Investigators originally thought the boy was found inside the home with his mother. We've learned, however, she was at work on the midnight shift.

A GoFundMe account has been set up to assist the family with home repairs, medical bills and funeral expenses. Click here if you'd like to donate.
