Community rallies for family of Armada teen who died from flu

"She was always thinking of others," said Eileen Borucki of her daughter Danielle.

Now everyone can't stop thinking about 15-year old Danielle Borucki, a straight-A student with a passion for music and a love for life.

A life that suddenly ended.

"I'm blown away," Eileen said. "I can't comprehend what's happening."

One minute Danielle's mother was taking her to get checked out  because she just didn't feel right.. The next, Danielle was admitted to Detroit Children's Hospital of Michigan.

The flu overwhelmed her young body, eventually causing her organs to fail.

"She was on the highest form of life support to try and oxygenate her blood but her lungs it affected her heart," Eileen said.

The whole time, Danielle, who is a triplet, was more concerned that her brother - dealing with a debilitating ailment of his own - would get sick.

On Sunday hundreds came to a benefit breakfast to give her family one less thing to worry about these days.

"We just knew they weren't able to financially help their daughter with her funeral," said Laurie Wilson, Armada High School principal. "So we were happy to step in."

It's their way of giving back to a generous girl who always gave to them.

"With the help of the community I think somehow we will manage to get through it," said Eileen.

Danielle's visitation is set for Tuesday at the Tiffany Young and Hass Funeral Home in Armada.

Her funeral will happen Wednesday. If you'd like to help pay for her funeral you may visit the family's GoFundMe Account: http://www.gofundme.com/jj7ehg
