Rochester teen who met Eminem dies after battling cancer

The Rochester teen who helped bring together a community and recently met rapper Eminem, has died.
A 17-year-old who captured the hearts of so many in Rochester has died.

Gage Garmo died Monday night after battling a rare and aggressive form of bone cancer.

Earlier that evening, his family and friends rallied for Gage at a candlelight vigil at Rochester High School's football field.

They lit candles that mirrored his warmth and reflected their love for the teenager.

His friends started a GoFundMe account for his family and made it possible for Gage's favorite rapper, Eminem, to hear about him.

Eminem visited with Gage Sunday, flying in from Atlanta.

Gage's family would like to thank everyone who made his final days so special.

Gage would have turned 18 on Friday.
