6 shot, 1 dead at community hall on Detroit's east side

DETROIT (WJBK) -- One person is dead and five others are injured after a shooting on Detroit's east side early Sunday morning.

The shooting happened at approximately 4:15 a.m. Sunday at the Chalmers Community Hall on Chalmers Avenue, near Chelsea Avenue.

Police say two men were having an argument when shots were fired.  

Among the six victims was 44-year-old man who was shot in the head.  He transported to the hospital, where he died in the emergency room. The other five victims suffered non-life threatening injuries.

As of Sunday night, police had 3 people in custody. It is unclear if any of those currently being held by police were the shooter.
