The project will bring about $9 million worth of improvements in the area of I-275 and Ford Road. The area is known to be heavily congested as it serves the entrance to the only Ikea store in Michigan.
The project plans to:
- Pave Lotz Road
- Expand westbound Ford Road to include 3 continuous lanes of traffic
- Add a second exit to SB I-275
The Michigan Department of Transportation is expected to contribute about $3.75 million of funding for the project, while Wayne County will pay $5 million for the paving of Lotz Road.
MDOT is holding an open house to brief neighbors about the project tonight, March 4, 2015. The open house is from 5 - 7 p.m. at Summit on the Park.
If you cannot make the briefing and have questions or concerns about the project, you're asked to call the MDOT branch in Taylor.
