Man to stand trial for carjacking

A man whose arrest was caught on cell phone video, was bound over for trial on carjacking charges.

Andrew Jackson Junior will be tried on charges that he carjacked a grandmother at gunpoint. The video showed Jackson being beaten by the cops, but before that the prosecutor said Jackson was carjacking Phyllis Knox.

"A few minutes later he turns around and points a gun in my face and said I'm robbing you. I want the keys to your car and your purse," said Phyllis Knox who testified in court Tuesday. "I have medication, I have no money, can I please just have my purse. He said no. You don't understand you're getting robbed." Knox said.

Knox had her grandchildren in the car as well.

"He pulled the car door open and pointed a gun at them and said get out and said it again, get out," said Knox.

In court, Jackson blurted out that he was not the carjacker and that he owns three cars.

The video of Mr. Jackson allegedly being beaten by the police didn't even come up in today's preliminary exam, it's not relevant.. Jackson is suing those officers. If and when he will collect, that will be the subject of another court hearing at another time .

Jackson's next court date for the criminal case will be March 10
