$2,500 offered for information on woman's Christmas morning murder

She came home from college for the holidays and was gunned down Christmas morning in Detroit.

Now the family of Christine Samuel is planning her funeral. Crime Stoppers is offering a $2,500 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the suspects responsible.

Samuel, 22, was sitting in a car with a friend on Detroit's east side at the corner of Carlisle and Redmond when two men approached the vehicle and opened fire.

Christina was killed and her friend was wounded. It was just after midnight on Christmas.

Samuel's friend is in critical condition.

"They have no one in custody," Christopher Samuel, Christina's father said. "And my baby did nothing wrong. And she's gone."

"I just went to Indiana Tech to see her graduate with honors in criminal justice with her bachelor's degree," said Crystal Samuel, Christina's sister.

The funeral for Christina is noon Saturday at the Swanson Funeral Home on East Grand Boulevard.

Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
