And that someone has connections to Detroit.
Judging by this photo owner of the D Las Vegas casino hotel, Derek Stevens, is already doing well for himself.
Now take a look at this bet slip. That's a $20,000 wager placed on Michigan State University's basketball team at 50-1 odds to win the NCAA championship.
The payoff? $1 million.
"You know, I graduated from the University of Michigan," Stevens said.
That's Stevens talking on the phone with his cousin, yes his cousin, Ryan Ermanni of FOX 2 and Detroit Sports105.1's Ryan and Rico radio show.
Ryan says Derek's a crazy dude. listen to state's record when the bet was made.
"They were 5-3 at the time and at the time a lot of people didn't even know if they would make the NCAA tournament," Ermanni said. "He wanted huge odds, he got huge odds and he's in line for a big payout.
"You know who I'm going to be calling. I have his cell phone number and I'm going to hit him up."
With another scintillating spring special being served up by Super Izzo, anything is possible.
"I respect Coach Izzo a whole lot," Stevens said. "You never know how a basketball season is going to develop, how players are going to develop and players develop, and all of that.
"It was really based on Izzo."
And what does MSU Assistant Coach Dane Fife, also calling into the show, think about this?
"Hey, I like the pick," Fife said.
As for Ryan, being a Wolverine won't preclude him from rooting for Michigan State and his cousin, who has options.
