Caught on camera: deputies chase bank robbery suspects on I-94

On Monday, two bank robbery suspects were tased and cuffed after a wild police chase on I-94. About 24 hours later, we're learning this may not have been their first crime.

The Macomb County Sheriff says the 25 and 27 year old men from Detroit may responsible for other bank heists. On Monday, investigators said they held up a Comerica Bank at gunpoint in Harrison Township. Then they sped off on I94 but their getaway attempt ended in a crash in Roseville.

On Tuesday, dashcam video of the chase and arrest was released. It showed officers chase the van and execute a 'pit maneuver' which caused the fan to turn a 180 and crash into the grass median. Anthony Wickersham with the Macomb County Sheriff's Office said they didn't know what the two were capable of.

"We don't know what was going through their mind," Wickersham said. "We were thankful these two didn't want to have a gun fight."

After the crash, the driver tried to run from the scene, only to be tased on the interstate. Both were arrested and eventually led away.

Because the crime committed was a bank robbery, the FBI is already involved. The Macomb County Sheriff says the two men are suspects in at least two other bank robberies in the try county area.

"It appears that these two are responsible for two other bank robberies, one in Pontiac and one in Brownstown Twp," Wickersham said.

Wickersham said despite the banged vehicles, no officers were injured and no shots were fired.
