The highlight of the class every year is when FOX 2's Problem Solver and Hall of Shame architect stops by.
The kids at Macomb Lutheran North High School go to scam school. One of the teachers, Steve Slagle, has been using Hall of Shame videos as a teaching tool.
"I like your videos," one student said. "I never knew all that stuff happened around here. I didn't know any fraud or anything like that."
Wolchek: "And what do you know now?"
"Like you were saying," she said. "Bait and switch and all that kind of stuff."
The class is called business, the segment is called the fraud unit.
Slagle said he teach from a boring old book or he can use the Hall of Shame videos which the students pick up on.
"My favorite part is seeing your videos everyday," another student said.
Wolchek: "And what do you get out of it?"
"I learned how not to get scammed," she said. "I'm a pretty gullible person so it really helps."
At the end of the unit, Wolchek visits the class and fields hard questions from the students while sharing stories from the field.
