A 3-year-old boy is recovering after being shot in the head at a park Monday, according to Clinton Township police.
Police say the boy is in stable condition at McClaren.
The shooting happened at Normandy Park, which is off Little Mack near 15 Mile Road and Gratiot Avenue.
We're told the mother dropped off her boyfriend and her son at the park around 8:30 p.m. Police say the boyfriend and the boy were in a wooded area in the back of the park, when somehow a gun went off and the child was struck.
Detectives spent most of the morning looking for the gun used in the shooting. Police say the boyfriend is not being forthcoming with information about the gun or the shooting.
