Teen on life support after car accident with father in Sterling Heights

On Friday night three teens died and two were injured in a high-speed crash at Stony Creek Metro Park.

But that same night, another student was seriously injured in a separate car accident on the same night.

Senior Jack Parry is on life support after an accident with his father on the way to the store to pick up supplies for his graduation party. His father lost control of the vehicle and crashed.

It happened on M-53 at Clinton River Road in Sterling Heights just before 8 p.m. their vehicle slammed into a cement pillar  trapping them both inside. Jack's father broke six ribs and his jaw  while his injuries were obviously a lot worse.

"There was a witness behind the vehicle who actually said it looked like they were driving normally, then hydroplaning," said Lt. Dave Smith of Sterling Heights police. "The water made the vehicle slide and that's what caused the accident."

"You have so much life ahead of you, thinking about high school and what you want to accomplish. It's horrible."

Jack is a senior at Stevenson High School where grief counselors were brought in on Monday to help his classmates work through this tragedy -  and cope with another one on the same night at Stony Creek Metro Park.

A vigil was at Stevenson Monday night and a GoFundMe page has already raised more than $4,000  for his family when the time comes for funeral expenses.

Grief counselors will be available at Utica Community schools for as long as the students need.
