97-year-old woman carjacked in Warren parking lot

Authorities have a person in custody after a 97-year-old was carjacked Friday night in Warren. 

She and her son were at the Home Depot near 11 Mile and Hoover roads. Her son ran inside and left her in the Chevy Malibu with the engine running. 

Police say that's when 28-year-old Damian Jablonowski hopped in the car and yelled for the woman to get out. 

But, before she could fully exit the car, police say Jablonowski sped off and knocked the elderly woman to the ground. 

Police were able to track down the car, though, through the vehicle's OnStar. They caught up with the suspect at a liquor store in Hamtramck. 

Jablonowski has been arrested and will be charged with carjacking and driving without a license. 

The woman was not seriously hurt.
