All-clear given after security breach incident at Metro Airport

A security breach at Detroit Metropolitan Airport in Romulus ended without incident Wednesday night.

A traveler went the wrong way through a security checkpoint, entering through an out door at a closed checkpoint, according to Mike Conway, director of public affairs.

The incident happened at about 9:45 p.m. A TSA Agent triggered the alarm, following protocol.

A sweep of the building was performed as a precaution and an all-clear was issued at 10:48 p.m.

"Business resumes as usual, there are not a lot of flights this late," Conway said. "So there was not much of an interruption."
