Berkley Police: 'SOS' note left at diner was a prank

Immediately, police said they began trying to track down who the child was and who the boy was with when he was spotted on camera. Police Chief Bob North said there was no reason or evidence that suggested foul play but there was cause for concern.

Tuesday morning, sources told FOX 2 that the kid may have been pulling a prank. Police said they spoke with the boy's mother who gave them details that they had not released to the public.

According to police, the child told his mom that this is a game he plays with his friends and it's a prank.

Police are still working to interview the boy and have not released any names at this time.
