Bystanders shot during neighbor argument on Detroit's east side

A toddler was among innocent bystanders shot on Detroit's east side Sunday after an argument in the neighborhood.

Gunshots were fired during a dispute that night on Pelkey Street, which is near Seven Mile and Schoenherr roads. Two people were struck: a 2-year-old and a 24-year-old. Both are said to have had no involvement in the argument leading up to the shooting.

Witnesses say two neighbors were arguing over their dogs.

Then, at least one person grabbed a gun and opened fire.

We talked to one woman who was involved in the dispute. She was grazed in the arm.

The victims were taken to the hospital and are expected to be okay.

A 19-year-old man is in custody and a weapon has been recovered.
