California man loses lottery ticket, can't claim million-dollar prize

Lesson learned for one California man - if you buy a lottery ticket, put it in a safe place.

Hung Nguyen bought a Powerball ticket at a supermarket in Rosemead, California, which is just outside of Los Angeles.

He bought the ticket months ago, but the numbers from the next drawing for one million dollars matched his ticket.

When no one came forward to claim the prize, a local news station played the surveillance video that showed the mystery winner buying the ticket.

Nguyen's boss recognized him, but since he doesn't have the ticket he can't get the money.

The unclaimed money has been donated to California's public school system.
