Curling irons, weaves stolen after thieves hammer hole in beauty supply shop

Authorities are investigating after a beauty supply shop on Detroit's southwest side was broken into.

The suspects gained entry to Kay Beauty Supply by creating a hole in the wall in the back of the shop. The shop, which is on Michigan Avenue, backs up to I-94. The owner of the building says the location made it an easy target since no houses or street lights are behind the shop.

The building owner says surveillance video shows at least three or four men hammering through the back of the building. The suspects are all said to have been wearing masks.

A pile of bricks are still at the scene where the suspects created the hole. The hole has since been boarded up.

The suspects are said to have stolen curling irons and hair weaves.

Police have not yet provided a description of the suspects.
