Detroit police shoot drug dealing suspect

A man suspected of selling drugs was shot by police in the area of Woodward and State Fair Friday.

The suspect was pointing a gun at the officers at the time of the shooting. He was wounded in his buttock and transported to a hospital, according to police.

Officers had witnessed two drug transactions at a nearby gas station and attempted to make an arrest when the suspect fled into a nearby high rise.

The man appeared shortly after with his gun drawn when he was shot.
