Detroit residents sought for citizen advisory committee

With Detroit emerging from bankruptcy, Mayor Mike Duggan is promising to create greater transparency in government.

The city is launching a new open data initiative. It is a way for Detroiters to go online to find all kinds of important information.

The mayor says there's been a pattern of mistrust between Detroiters and city government.

But a new website will allow anyone access to information about crime, financial transactions and even houses scheduled for demolition.

The mayor says the city is accepting applications for a citizens advisory committee. Anyone can apply by CLICKING HERE.
