Andre Holloway

In the video released by Detroit police, Andre Holloway walking down a sidewalk here at the corner of Lappin and Rowe when he was shot to death.

Although the video is not clear, that was when someone driving an SUV pulled up; someone got out and fired a flurry of shots, killing Holloway on at 12:30 a.m. last March 25.

With the video recorded at night, it's been impossible to get a make of the vehicle, a license plate number or a description of anyone involved, leaving this case unsolved.

Holloway would have turned 34 years old two days later. Now a grieving mother is speaking about the tragedy.

"Right now, I'm hurt," said his mother Angela Holloway. "Heartbroken. Sad. Angry. And really upset about the senseless killings in Detroit."

When you look at the video showing the murder, it leaves investigators with one question.

FOX 2: "You have to wonder if he knew his killer or killers?"

"Most likely he did," said Det. Patrick Lane, Detroit police. "The video does show someone was waiting for him."

Police say Holloway just left his girlfriend's house on his way home right before the shooting. Angela Holloway said she received text messages from her son earlier in the evening regarding arguments he had with people in the neighborhood.

However, police say they have brought several people for questioning, but they have not been able to develop a solid lead.

"You have to speak up and let people know what's going on," Angela said. "Our city is coming together. They're building. They're bringing people back. Don't let the crime take it back down under."

If you have any information on this case give the DPD a call or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP. You will remain anonymous.
