Owners of the Pontiac Silverdome are putting the landmark up for sale six years after buying it.
The price tag? $30 million - after it was sold by the city of Pontiac for $583,000, six years ago.
The latest sports action at the Silverdome? It's Tyler Fernengel, a BMX rider from Wyandotte.

Oakland County is ready to step up in the next phase for the Silverdome.
"This is a teachable moment for how not governments should not dispose of important pieces of real estate if they feel the need to monetization it or liquidate it," said Andy Meisner, Oakland County treasurer. "
Meisner is no fan of the way the Silverdome was sold six years ago but believes the new sale should become a positive for the area.
"What happened here is the property was offered at an auction for anybody to come and do what they want," Meisner said. "The teachable moment is if they had entered into a development agreement, gone through a RFP process where they could recruit developers from around the world, to come up with fantastic ideas that could get vetted in the community. Instead of being a source of blight that really drains our property value and sends a message of neglect."
The company that bought the Silverdome under the direction of Pontiac's Emergency Financial manager reportedly has more than a dozen offers.
Meisner says this will end up being a career ending victory for the Silverdome if the right buyer is chosen.
"We want to look ahead," Meisner said. "We just want to find the right partners who are going to invest
The Silverdome opened in 1975 and Phase 2 could begin with a sale sometime this year.
