A witness who was outside his house near the site of the crash, said the driver of the car was trapped inside as the car burst into flames. The car was estimated to be going about 80 to 90 miles an hour.
The crash happened at about 6:50 p.m. with the tow truck, whose driver said told FOX 2 that he was uninjured.
The car, possibly a Corvette, was left crumpled.
Some bystanders rushed to the burning car with fire extinguishers according to one witness, who said he heard a loud boom.
He then said the driver of the sports car could be seen fighting to get out as the flames spread.
