Cruz booed off stage at RNC after not giving Trump endorsement

Meanwhile Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, once a starch opponent of Donald Trump speaking Thursday was booed.

At one point. security even escorted his wife off of the floor after some tense moments where he appeared to skip an endorsement of the Republican presidential nominee. FOX 2's Roop Raj was there minutes after Cruz left the stage.

Raj ran into him in the elevator lobby just outside of the Fox studio and he was asked the question about what do you think about the fact you were booed off of the stage.

He said "It was an honor to have the opportunity to talk on stage."

Trump took to Twitter and posted: "Wow, Ted Cruz got booed off the stage, didn't honor the pledge! I saw his speech two hours early but let him speak anyway. No big deal!"

If you missed it, here's exactly how it all went down:

Cruz ended his speech by telling voters to not sit out in November then skipped any endorsement ending with  "God bless each and every one of you, and God bless the United States of America.

The sound was not people yelling "Cruz," that's rather the boos. During his entire speech, he only mentioned Donald Trump one time and it was the beginning to congratulate him for the presidential nomination.

However, the delegates sitting in the seats who were big Trump supporters in this divisive election were hoping for something else instead. They were hoping for an endorsement from Ted Cruz and instead they got snubbed. That was the feeling they had.

As for his wife, Heidi Cruz, she was removed because of the fact that so many people were yelling -- some of them heard yelling, "Goldman Sachs" a reference to where she had worked before, during some contentious moments.

We did know an hour beforehand that Ted Cruz indeed would not be endorsing Donald Trump because they released the speech.  He didn't go off script. he stuck with his guns and in this case, it may have cost him some points with some of the people on the floor.
