Trump continues to make pitch to African American voters

Donald Trump continues to make his pitch to African American voters.

The Republican presidential nominee said he'll be back in Michigan and plans to visit Flint later in the campaign.

On Saturday, Detroit native Ben Carson took Trump on a tour of Carson's old neighborhood.

Carson said the Republican Party has ignored African American voters for years because they have written them off as Democrats.

"Trump is changing that narrative and is really starting to talk about this in a very serious way and I've had many discussions with him about it," Carson said. "He becomes very animated during those discussions and this is a subject about which he cares deeply."

Polls show Trump's support among African Americans is in the single digits.
