Five shot at block party on Detroit's east side

Police are investigating a shooting at a block party that injured five people Sunday night on Detroit's east side.

Police say the shooting happened around 9:50 p.m. during a block party in front of a car wash in the 12300 block of Gratiot Avenue.

Detroit Police Spokeswoman Cassandra Lewis says there were two 19-year-old victims, a 14-year-old, an 18-year-old and a 29-year-old. All five victims are said to be in "temporary serious" condition.

Police want to make it clear that at this point no one is dead and that there were hundreds of people at the block party when the shooting occurred.

At this point no one is cooperating with police, they say.

Police do not have any descriptions of their suspects, however, police are asking that if anyone has any information they're asked to call Crimestoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP or the Detroit Police at 313-596-2200.
