FLINT, Mich. (WJBK) - Gov. Rick Snyder approved a $30 million dollar deal to address 65 percent of Flint's water bills.
"The water you think you are using to drink, you would use to cook, you're using for bathing - that's to say you shouldn't have to pay for that."
Joining Snyder was a Flint pastor.
"Because your voices have been heard this type of relief comes to the city and is so needed," said Pastor Jeffery Hawkins of Prince of Peace Baptist Church.
The governor said that anger and frustration from the people of Flint directed at him serves as motivation, even in the face of people who tell him he's not doing enough fast enough.
"I am committed to short-term responses to make sure we provide the resources until that water is safe to drink," Snyder said.
The pastor said the bottom line is he just wants to see something change and is willing to work with whoever is in power to get it done.
