'God Loves Gays' billboard goes up in Dearborn Heights

The same-sex marriage debate is raging with both sides using money and advertising.

One example is in Dearborn Heights. "God Loves Gays" is the first billboard of its kind in Michigan on northbound Telegraph at Warren, in Dearborn Heights.

But the only information about who is responsible for this, is a Facebook persona named "Jehovah God." "God" for short.

"Whoever they are, it's very mysterious," said Leanard Lee of YouCaring.com. "Whoever 'God' is in this case is posting these satirical messages and is running this campaign."

Lee, was contacted by "God" to fund raise, says this location was chosen because of an earlier anti-gay Message saying, homosexuality was not a civil right, which had appeared on the same billboard.

It's gone now.  God is selective.

"God decided to put a big God Loves gays billboard in Topeka, Kansas right beside the Westboro Baptist Church.

So far the group has two billboards in Utah, this is its third.  God has raised over $16,000. It says for every $10,000 raised a new "God Loves Gays" billboards will pop up somewhere across the country.

Lee said that there is about 28 cities around the country that have been picked for the billboards.

Might God be putting up these billboard on the Eve of a major Supreme Court ruling  same sex marriage?

"We don't take a position on the fundraising campaigns run on our site," Lee said. "I have to say this is highly unusual and seems to be very popular."
