Government approves sale of powdered alcohol

The federal government approved this week the sale of powdered alcohol.

The product, known as 'palcohol', is a dried form of alcohol that gets mixed with water to create a cocktail.

Product creators say their process is a patented, trade secret. They say when the powder gets mixed with the water, it's equal to a standard-sized drink.

Is it too good to be true?

Some believe the alcohol will evaporate if you change it from its original, liquid form. Others are concerned about negative side effects, such as snorting, spiking drinks and getting into the hands of minors.

A statement on palcohol's website says they hope to start selling the product this summer.
