Harrison Twp. apartment building goes up in flames

A Harrison Township apartment building went up in flames early Monday morning. Seven different fire companies responded to the fire and spent hours battling the flames.

Authorities believe the fire at Brittany Park Apartments began in a kitchen on the second floor. The resident who was cooking sustained some burns and was transported to the hospital.

Four other people suffered smoke inhalation and were treated on scene.

Rescue crews were able to help several third-floor residents safely exit the building via a ladder. Authorities say most resident self evacuated.

Several apartment units sustained smoke and fire damage.
