Highland Twp. home and property raided, officials mum on why

Homeland Security, the Secret Service, and the Michigan State Police all converged on a home in Highland Township. It belongs to owners of a trucking company but what was inside is a mystery.

SKYFOX was over the home Thursday morning as law enforcement was inside and searching. It all started at the home in the 2800 block of Rowe Road Wednesday night. Michigan State Police, Homeland Security, and Secret Service were all inside.

Dan Hoops said that was when he came home to the house next door and found cops lining his street.

"My whole street was filling up with cars and then this morning they came back have no idea what's going," Hoops said.

And he's not alone. Other neighbors say they don't know what's going on over there but have noticed some suspicious activity, including trucks going in and out of a pole barn on the property in the middle of the night.

FOX 2 has learned there are two trucking businesses registered to this address. Good Time LLC and Twin Twisters Trucking, a carrier company. According to online records the house and businesses are registered to a Viorel and Mihaela Pricop,

Bruno Genrich is an assistant special agent with Homeland Security. He was pretty tight lipped.

"It's part of a financial investigation that's pretty much all we can say right now," he told FOX 2's Taryn Asher.

He said they are sifting through information inside the house, but a pizza delivery that happened while our crews were on scene indicate they may be there for a while.

"I moved out here peaceful and remote so you don't have to worry about neighbors," Hoops said. "Having 30 or so police out here is a little scary."

Editor's Note: The home was originally thought to be in Milford, as it has a Milford mailing address. However, police now say the home is actually in Highland Township.
