According to OCSO, deputies were dispatched to an address in the 6000 block of Cheshire Park Dr. for a welfare check. The caller indicated that the female who resides at the address failed to show up for work and did not call-in ill, which the caller reported to be out of character for her. The caller went to house to check on her but did not get an answer at the door.
When Deputies arrived at the residence they knocked and received no answer at the door but, Deputies observed a child inside the home.
Deputies found what appeared to be blood splatter on the door and subsequently forced entry into the home. Once inside the home they discovered the body of a female who was obviously deceased lying on the floor of the garage. She appeared to have suffered severe blunt trauma.
On further checking of the residence Deputies located a 32-year-old male resident (husband) of the home and two minor children, a female age 2, and a male age 6 who were unharmed.
The deceased female has been identified as the suspect's wife. The family dog also was found deceased and the victim of severe blunt trauma. Two baseball bats were recovered as evidence as possible weapons used.
The suspect was taken into custody and is currently lodged in the Oakland County Jail. The children are in the care of their grandparents.
The suspect was previously convicted of Domestic Violence in 2014.
An autopsy is pending and the investigation continues with charges pending.
