Inkster boys accused in Florida for BB gun ambush at public pool

Two teens from metro Detroit are accused of shooting out a woman's teeth in Florida and at people sitting on a pool deck with a BB gun.

The boys - 12 and 16 years old from Inkster, had been sent to stay with their grandmother for the summer in Holly Hill.

According to police, the brothers fired a BB gun out an apartment window. The woman, Leanne Dontigney, was hit in the mouth chipping two teeth and burning her tongue. She was also hit in the shoulder.

The BBs also struck four other people last Monday.

The two boys could be sent back to Florida in the next few days - where they may face felony aggravated battery charges.

Dontigney and her two boys were at the Blue Tide Apartments pool when someone at the pool complained of pain. Then, Dontigney was hit.

"I first got shot in the arm; it hurt really bad. I didn't know where it came from, then I freaked out and was worried about the safety of my children," she says.  "I quickly turned around, my lounge chair was behind me, and I got shot in the mouth."

Dontigney is trying to come up with the money to have all four bottom teeth taken care of. She says her insurance won't cover it.
