Digital Content Creator (Regular, Full-Time)

We’re hiring a Digital Content Creator to be a part of our next-level team at WJBK/Fox 2 in Detroit. Reporting to the (Digital Content Manager/Digital Content Director), the Digital Content Creator will be laser-focused on telling stories that matter most to digital and social users—and doing it better than anyone else. RESPONSIBILITIES: Create compelling, UX-focused content related to news, events and topics relevant to local users and beyond, including text stories, photo/graphics, live streaming content, breaking news, and social media elements. Engage and build loyalty among communities. Serve as liaison to newsroom, ensuring digital and social dominance. Reach and engage users on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat and beyond. Work with Group Content Team and other FTS markets to distribute high-interest stories at scale. Follow group standards. Monitor real-time analytics. Other duties as deemed necessary and assigned.

REQUIREMENTS: 3+ years’ experience developing and publishing content including news, on digital and social platforms preferred. BA/BS degree, preferably in Journalism, Communications or related field with emphasis on digital publishing. Excellent writer and story teller. Superior news judgment. Impeccable writing and copy editing skills. Overwhelming attention to detail. Thrive under deadline pressure. Stellar communications skills. Social media expert. Proficient in content management systems, video publishing, live streaming, and digital analytics tools. Video and photo editing experience (Adobe products a plus). Must be able to work flexible hours and weekends.

Digital Sales Manager (Regular, Full-Time)
FTS is hiring Digital Sales Managers in six of their owned and operated markets. The individuals will be responsible for conceptualizing and executing a winning digital sales strategy for their respective markets. Position will report to the local VP General Sales Manager and the VP of Digital Sales. The Digital Sales Manager (DSM) will be responsible for the overall monetization strategy for the Station's website, apps, OTT and social media platforms. The DSM plays a key role as the driving force behind revenue growth and new digital business development. 

Develop revenue-producing digital sales ideas for station from start to finish. Increasing local revenue share and driving creation of new digital business. Primary point of contact for all local digital sales campaigns. Internal expert on digital sales. Coach and motivate local sales staff. Track/maintain digital sales records for all clients. Create effective sales presentations and one-sheets, giving clients a clear picture of opportunities presented to them. Analyze campaign performance and communicate results to clients. Other duties as deemed necessary and assigned. REQUIREMENTS: 5+ years digital sales or sales management experience preferred. BA in Marketing, Communications or related field. Deep understanding of digital sales and how to meet client’s needs while also meeting/exceeding revenue goals. Expert in social media monetization. Understanding of ad tags, analytics and campaign tools. Demonstrated leadership skills. Experience developing/motivating winning teams. Must be able to thrive in an intense, fast-moving environment. Must be creative and have a passion for innovation. Must be a strong communicator with significant experience building/delivering presentations. Account Executive (Full-Time, regular)
WJBK’s Sales Department is seeking an individual for an immediate opportunity as an Account Executive. The person will maintain and improve existing clients and target prospective customers to sell comprehensive advertising campaigns utilizing all platforms including television and digital performing the following duties: 
•    Responsible for obtaining revenue goals in all facets including existing accounts, new business, zero share business and digital.
•    Meet regularly with sales management and digital team to communicate sales goals, new business development and forecasts.
•    Proficient in negotiation skills utilizing NSI LPM ratings, and qualitative research.
•    Possess strong written and oral communication skills including strong presentation skills.
•    Ability to identify and target new business opportunities and hit quarterly sales goals as assigned.
•    Call on prospective clients and present outlines of various programs, packages and opportunities for both linear and non-linear platforms.
•    Create and present marketing plans to encourage the use of FOX in their advertising mix.
•    Process all paperwork related to account lists accurately, completely and in a timely manner.
•    Work with Credit Manager to ensure appropriate credit references are furnished and timely payments are received for business sold.
•    Demonstrate responsibility for any and all equipment issued by FOX.
•    Represent WJBK FOX 2 in a professional manner at all times.
•    Regular attendance.
•    Comply with all 21st Century computer requirements – myfoxpay, Navigator training, password protection, computer usage, etc.
•    Comply with all 21st Century and Station polices – Anti-Bribery & Anti-Corruption, Insider Trading, etc.
•    Duties as assigned.
•    Entertain clients.
•    Local/regional travel.

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university preferred. Two to five year’s sales/advertising experience strongly preferred. Possess proficient skills in Word, Excel and Power Point (a plus). Knowledge of Wide Orbit preferred. Extremely organized, self-motivated, sales driven, team-oriented, works well under pressure in a fast paced environment. Good listening skills along with relationship building qualities. Must maintain valid driver’s license.
