Lapeer first grader lights up the stage with neon Hula hoop act

Lily Basman knows how to play to a crowd. The Lapeer first grader is only six but when she took the stage at Schickler Elementary's talent show last Thursday, she was in control.

Her name was announced to a roaring ovation of cheers and applause. Then everything went black. Everything, that is, except for a neon Hula hoop and the neon outline of the young girl as she walked on stage.

She gets to the center of the stage, drops her Hula hoop and "Party Rock Anthem" comes over the speakers. The neon girl dances on stage and even works the crowd into clapping along with her!

After a minute or so, she grabbed the Hula hoop and really showed what she's got.

"She has received several compliments on how cool her act was and I am very proud of her," her mom Kristina Whitcomb told FOX 2.

She also said the 6-year-old is obsessed with Hula hooping and it shows.

By the time she was done with her neon Hula hooping, the crowd was cheering and clapping along. Watch the video above (app users, CLICK HERE to watch on YouTube).
