Michigan lawmaker wants to end Daylight Saving Time

- Daylight Saving Time gives us more sunlight for much of the year, but is it worth it?

It's an annual pain for many people, messing up the clocks on the wall and the body's internal clock.

Studies show the time switch leads to thousands of heart attacks as people struggle to adjust. Daylight Saving is designed to conserve energy by not using lights as much in the evening.

State Rep. Pete Lucido said it's an outdated practice, and he plans to introduce legislation to end Daylight Saving Time in Michigan.

"I want to keep everybody consistent on the same time. It doesn't do any good for bus schedules, train schedules (or) plane schedules," Lucido told FOX 2. "It doesn't do anybody any good anywhere, in any family, moving their clocks, moving their cars -- doing any of this stuff."
