Woman in gas station shooting video going to trial

- A woman accused of pulling the trigger in the shooting that was caught on high-definition surveillance video at a Detroit gas station is going straight to trial.

A judge waived Shamicah Burton's prelimary exam Friday morning.

Prosecutors say Burton was caught on surveillance video firing shots at a gas station on Fenkell Avenue near Greenfield Road last month. One man was hurt.

Hours before that, police say Burton robbed two women at gunpoint also on Fenkell.

She is facing a list of charges including assault with intent to murder.

The case in question was captured on high-definition surveillance video as the gas station is part of Detroit Police Department's Project Green Light. The cameras at Project Green Light locations livestream video directly to DPD headquarters and are monitored 24 hours a day in efforts to crack down on violence in the city.
