14 snakes removed from Washington Twp. home

More than a dozen snakes were removed from a home in Washington Township. Animal control found 13 live snakes and one dead.

The snakes, including phythons and a corn snake, were taken after the homeowners agreed to surrender the reptiles. The couple appeared to have been breeding the reptiles illegally and trying to sell them to the public.

The snakes were found in aquariums and rubber storage tubs.

Authorities said most of the snakes were sick and needed immediate medical attention.

The snakes were taken to animal control for medical treatment.

The owners may face animal cruelty charges.
